Rotation
Scraping Test and dealing with the rotation

The crowd was invited to ask questions and enter into discussion.

The Subject of the honoring

Clarification - Honoring

John Russell answers questions about the changing to the word "shall" to "should" as being the clarafication.

Don Driggers - agreed with clarification and change of the word

Northrup Larson - voices concern of logistics of the Honor
JR: explains the event committee can address it in their report to the AKC as they deem necessary.

Discussion on Honoring continues, comments made by John Parrott

Rotation -

Discussion on situations in a field trial where a dog runs a series as the first competitor twice in the event.

Event Committee and Judges should cooperate and arrive at a logical rotation that to be fair.

Do we need a clarification?

Should we allow double staked competitors to rest between stakes if they just ran one stake but needs to be at the next stake immediately.

There is no provision in the rule book for resting between stakes.  However, a reasonable approach should be used.

Discussion about how to handle the rotation when a test is scraped

What if four numbers for rotation are announced at a field trial rotation numbers and they have a combined series.

It was mentioned the 3rd trip to the line should be the third number announce and if there should be a 5th series the rotation would already be built in.

There is no particular direction on this in the rule book

A discussion about the use of "Boom Guns" in field trials

They get different sounds
Training the help properly
It was suggested the judges need to be sensitive to timing volume of nosie etc.
Boomers can be used on the 2nd and the 3rd birds thrown, but not on the first bird thrown because of the delay.
A subject of "No Going" on blinds in All-Age Stakes - ensues

Should we be sensitive to the dogs possibility of being confused as to whether "He (the dog)" if he was sent.

It was suggested that at the All-Age level the team aspect is important and the strategy may or may not suffer a consequence to for example voice inflection.

Charlie Hayes brought up the subject of using "Wingers" in a field trial.  Using wingers for the Flyer Station to reduce the amount of "No-Birds" especially hen pheasant flyers. It was discussed the fall and throw by the winger is more consistent.  It was stated the wingers are not needed for a dead bird. It was also suggested the birds are just as visible to the dog as a hand thrown bird.

New Rule Announcement : We now may have a rotation in minor stakes at the discretion of the club holding the event.

John Russell - Thanked the crowd and the meeting was adjourned.
