What first comes to mind when you hear the word cancer?
Many say fear or terminal. The amazing thing about dogs is they do not fear. Therefore, our dogs truly live in the moment. We will be able to prevent some cancers, we will be able to treat cancers, and we will be able to cure some cancers but it is not accurate to say we will cure ALL cancers. Surprisingly, not all cancers should be treated, quality of life is very high in consideration when reviewing a treatment plan for cancer. Some cancers are treated too aggressively causing the animal to become very sick other cancers are best left alone to maintain a certain quality of life for the dog.
Cancer survivors should be allowed to compete or work. It is important to let them do what they love to do. Over the next year or two over 5 million canines will be diagnosed with cancer. Natural compounds can provide chemotherapy for the canine.
