2nd Series

Test Description

Series 2 is an “Indented Water Triple”.  This Series 2 brings us across the street from Fox Hollow Kennel to Jack and Lauraine Unbehaun’s property.  The test is located on a well-designed retriever training pond with a meandering shore-line.

The first bird to be thrown in this Indented Water Triple is a dead Drake Mallard.  The Drake is thrown to the left hard angle back, it lands tight up against a cluster of various species of pines.  The Drake is landing in ample cover. This gun station will carry a heavy influence on this Indented Water Triple, as the right bird remains visible for the entire test.  We will be referring to this mark as the Right bird or simply R:   This right mark is measuring a distance of 231 yards respective to the gunners.

The next mark to be thrown will be situated shallow and an eye-flicker to the left of the right-hand mark.  The bird being thrown here is a Hen Mallard.  The Hen is being thrown hard angle back right. This Hen creates a “pinched” situation relative to the first mark to be thrown to the left.  The Hen Mallard is also landing tight against a cluster of trees in a clump of native grasses.  An added caveat to this mark is that the will gunners retire into an invisible brushed-up holding blind once the dog is given its number.  We will refer to this mark as the Middle Retired or MR: The MR is measuring a distance of 188 yards.

The last bird to be thrown in this Indented Water Triple is deep and a click to the left of the MR.  This bird is a Flyer Drake Mallard.  The flyer is shot to the left and out of the test.  This Series 2 flyer is measuring a distance of  230 yards and is the Go-Bird.  The Go-Bird Flyer will remain visible the entire test.

This test will take an average of 10 minutes to complete.  We anticipate the test will be split over a two-day period.
